Ann Wilson (aka Ann the Poet) is a writer from South Cumbria.  She is currently writing for Ashton Group Theatre Factory senior youth theatre and has recently written for Brewery Youth Theatre, Alligators, Paines Plough and The Dukes.  Ann is the host at the  Spoken Word Open Mic at Brewery Arts Centre,Kendal.  She leads creative writing workshops for MIND in Ulverston and is an artist and project coordinator for Whitewood and Fleming for their Looked After Children’s work.  Ann has MS and writes a monthly blog for the MS society.  She has been performing poetry in festivals, theatres and on the street since 1995.  She was very proud to win a Tough Guy’s Music Award for Best Solo Act in 2009 especially as it sounds so butch.  She was South Cumbria Poet Laureate in 2006.
